Glad to have helped.
The following is directed at all subscribers of this list, it is in no way
directed at you Adrian b.
Now i know i am going to get "flame mail" for saying this BUT;
75% of questions here on this list are answerd before the mail has ever left
the question askers system, the answer is mostly in the systems
documentation.
Now linux is renowned for its obscure and un'understanable documentation
system.
Even more difficult is trying to understand why different distributions all
include the same HOWTO's but decide to place them in different directorys.
HOWTO's reside in;
suse /usr/doc/howto
redhat /usr/doc/HOWTO
slackware /usr/doc/faq/howto
debian /usr/doc/HOWTO
I belive ALL distributions do have /usr/doc/<program> as a standard, so look
there first for the particular program which concerns your question.
Another good way of finding information is;
'locate README' however i would advise using a redirect as the list is long.
locate README >readme.files
info <command> is also a good way of finding information.
Use grep in directorys to search for a certain word, belive me it helps to
RTFM before asking questions here on this list, of course if you cant find
an answer we will always try to help.
There are more ways to get information, but i consider this to be a matter
of taste, of which i am no director, only an adviser for questions of which i
have personal experiance of.
Its not a question of brother against brother, more like mind over matter.
Readme's matter dont they.!!!!
O boy my humor again.. ;-)
