You haven't told us enough about your setup to allow for good guesses about
the state of your hard disks. I suggest you provide this information:
1. How many physical hard disks are in the system.
2. How each is partitioned (how many partitions, and what OS on each).
3. Which is the IDE master on the first IDE line (IRQ 14)? This is the one
that will have the MBR that controls booting, even with multiple OSs
(unless, that is, you are using a floppy to boot into Linux). So it is
*possible* that the LILO loader is on the HD with "wincrap".
4. Which drives/partitions are failing.
5. What method you are using to boot Linux.
6. When you go into this unfamiliar mode after a Linux boot, what results do
you get from a "df" command?
7. What did you base your original statement that "My Linux HD died" on?
