I have RH5.2 and KDE installed.I am working on a standalone home system. I want to get into the KDE desktop directly bypassing the login: and Pasword. I edited the inittab file to run at runlevel:5 and got into the Fvwm of Redhat ,very fast ...but I want to get into the KDE desktop directly How do I do that? Similarly, when I shutdown , I first logout of the KDE desktop, come to the root prompt and then type "shutdown -h now" Can't I just click the logout button of KDE and shutdown the system? How?
