According to Kenneth Stephen: While burning my CPU.

That could have some bearing on the problem, if the kernel version is the
problem, then Ronald has just discoverd why the Gurus say "Dont use
development kernels unless you know what you are doing".

I rather think he is trying to use one IRQ twice, i base this assumption on
the following.
ZIP devices are mostly parallel devices and use IRQ7 just like a printer
does.
So if he uses the standard "default" configuration methods then he will be
trying to attach his ZIP drive to his printer port while its in use.
Of course my assumptions could be wrong.

I'm afraid this would not help, dmesg is a ring buffer and is only about 4k
in size, Ronald said, his screen scrools with;
Aiee: scheduling in interrupt 00127811
Now his dmesg will possably contain "nothing" else but the above.
However there is possably a full description of the problem in his system
log(s), depending on how his system is configured of course.
If there is an "Oops" message in his syslog, then i suggest reading;
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/oops-tracing.txt
That could hold the key to Ronalds problem, and lead him to solve his own
problem.
