Any modem that works in DOS will work in Linux. If the modem says that it
must have Windows to work, it won't work in Linux, (be careful, though
software typically requires windows... read CAREFULLY). Ask to see if the
modem runs in DOS (without Windows running at all). If the answer is
"Yes," you should be able to run the modem in Linux, just set it up for
the port that you want it on.
