any device that is a WIN something or other isn't going to work in linux.
For example, your Winmodem is just like that POS PCI Modem, it doesn't have
a UART either so the drivers supplied with it have a software driven UART.
Without the software, without WINDOWS that is, the hardware is junk. All
the other US robotics/3com modems work great except for their winmodems.
That's why they are so much cheaper than the real modems Arun...
Oh and here's another tip, when you get a different modem, don't leave it on
PNP or you'll have the same problems. You have to hard set it to an I/O
address and an IRQ.

I'm running redhat 5.2 in my machine and am trying to use ppp. But
my modem is USR V.90 Win which i guess is not supported by linux. I'm
planning to go in for a new one - i would like to know if USR V.90 56k
faxmodems are supported by redhat 5.2. Please let me know if somebody is
using this already.
