WP is simply a Word Processor. It is faster. It (free versions) lacks
fonts, wizards, and equation editor. It is stable, and uses libc5, not
glibc2 like SO5. WP uses far less memory. It has annoying habit of
popping up dialogs "This feature is only availble in professional
edition". The help for WP isn't included.

If I had glibc2 and more than 40Mb RAM, i'd use SO5. I don't, so WP8 is
fine.
