Hi,

A while ago, before i installed Linux, i bought a cheap but aparrently good
modem, that turned out to be a winmodem and completely useless to me for
Linux. Now i am looking to buy a new one that will work. I have seen people
warning against PCI modems, but they are a lot cheaper it seems. Some
people even say that you shouldn't buy any internal modem if you want to be
sure that it will work. Is this true? Am i best to buy an external one and
be sure that it will work? I will probably be mail ordering it, as computer
prices are inflated in my town, so it wil be harder to return it if it
doesn't work.

Thanks
Ben
