Linux fdisk can set more than two bootable partitions (on the same
disk). Lilo isn't installed in the Linux partition. It's installed in
the boot zone of a disk. This can be a floppy or the MBR.

Not anymore. My windoze partition was made with Linux fdisk and
it runs happy. And it's /dev/hda2. And it can boot without Lilo as well.

This depends on the settings from /etc/lilo.conf. There you can
make windoze boot as default. Or anything else.
