BTW, the reason that I recommended the configuration that I did is for
expansion.
Also, I partition just / because it's easier that way, and ext2 can handle
it ;).
I am now at these stats, just FYI, I have a 3.5gb drive:

Even though I'm not usign the full approx 2.5gb, the install can easily
take up just 850mb by itself, and I download a lot, so my space dwindles
lower and lower as time goes by.
3.8 gb on the Linux / partition ought to last you for quite a while, and I
think after you fill that up, you're other 10gb will be set up for Linux
use, too. ;)... Linux is much more efficient than Windows in 99% of the
tasks you'll do with it.
