The source RPMs contain the "source code" to the software... the actual
C/C++/Basic/Assembly code, whatever... Most Linux software is in C or C++,
I forget which one it is. That way, when you install these RPMs, you can
edit the actual programs, recompile them, and use your binaries.

PS: To the whole group: I wasn't going to make a specific post on this,
however the topic of source code came up, and related somewhat to that is
something I need help on. I need to hack Pine (or know if there is a
patch available that does this for me). I use my local Pine over a modem
connection, and the NNTP access is *way* too slow, because it appears that
Pine doesn't keep a local listing of the newsgroups. I would like to hack
Pine so that it does keep the local listing, and uses it instead of
persistantly going to the server... of course, the first time, download
the whole listing.
Is anyone willing to help me on this?
- Mike
