Errno 111 isn't what you want to check -- you need to look at the output of
startx that comes before that line. All errno 111 means is that an app that
expected to write to the X server couldn't find a server to write to. You
need to figure out why that server doesn't run, and for that you need to
look at the earlier messages. So I'd suggest you run startx again, either
normally or as probeonly, and redirect stderr to a file that you can review
after it fails.
Assuming you're using an X server that is compatible with your video "card"
(not sure what to call it on a laptop), the usual source of an X failure is
incorrectly specified vertical refresh, horizontal refresh, or video RAM.
As a fallback, you might try installing the SVGA server in 640x480 mode and
see if that works for you.
