Ray is right, as usual. :-).  If you have a RedHat CD, and only mail
access, please don't burn the CD.  The install may be kind of gooey
(I've never used it), but there is a lot of useful software on it that
you may want to get at after you have a working linux system.  Also, if
you are willing to make a separate linux partition rather than
installing on top of dos (you can still use dos as a tool to help set up
your system), you might want to consider installing just the base set of
regular slackware, and grow it from there.  It is packaged in
floppy-sized chunks, and you need about 9 or so, the whole a series, to
make a useful system.

At ftp.cdrom.com/pub/linux/slackware should be a file INSTALL.TXT with
pretty good instructions, as well as MIRRORS.TXT, where you may find a
site more convenient to your ftpmail server.

I use slackware myself, and have only email access, though I did install
it from a cd (using the text install root).
