About a week ago I tried to install the prerelease. I got it working
but I have to ask, what use is Gnome (or KDE for that matter, whose
interface I saw on a friends computer and wasn't wild about).
What does this sucker do that's so absolutely wonderful that I should
d/l the source (I don't do binaries), compile it and set it up. :)
Like I said, not a disparaging remark. It's just that I didn't see
much use for it when I installed it a week ago. Maybe I missed something.
(And yes, had a quick look through the gnome web site a week ago but
I may have missed something as I got the impression that the usefulness
of Gnome was taken as presumed knowledge :)
