I don't know if it's me, but I just trashed my Red Hat 5.2 distribution 
and will be going with Slackware.   It's pissing me off.
As for the Mach64, I have the same one and Red Hat went through 
a ton of problems before it decided it liked it.
Can't really suggest a solution.  I told it to use the basic video card 
settings, then changed them back to Mach 64 when installing X-
Windows.

Of course X-Windows doesn't seem to support high-res Mach64 
server modes!

Red Hat's support suggestion was to download the latest X-
Windows release!

Geez.
