The order here below is just fine, if you want first hand advise, read the
Kernel.HOWTO.gz in your /usr/doc/* dir, and for a quick referance take a
look at, /usr/src/linux/README which realy is the get started quick guide.
A 5 minute read will save you a couple of hours wait for a decent answer to
your question(s).
