Hmm... Have you installed the modem ? Go control-panel/modem and select a
device to which your modem is connected. Then, try to dial out again, you
should hear the modem waking up and pulse/tone dialing.

Let me know of what happens, it this time you won't succeed, I'll send
you my own scripts (well, just a single file) and you'll get connected
with dip. ;-)

As far as I know, you have to edit /etc/resolv.conf and add the name
of the mail server.... then Netscape won't bother you anymore... well, at
least  that's what I think... I might be wrong, but you can try.

I.e.:

search mail.myisp.com
nameserver 194.224.226.3
