Help! I have this huge (to me), fixed frequency monitor that I have not
yet
been able to correctly inform xf86config about. It was taken on a trade
and
it is a 19" HPA2094A model. From the HP URL there is not much info for
someone as naiive as myself. I did get that it was used on a HP9000
Work Station, but no more than that. It works ok with windoze and
the drivers that came with the PCI 78 card that's with it, but thus far
I have not been able to get it working with XWindows. The chipset
on the card is the Tseng 4000, it has 2Megs Video Ram, and Linux
indicates drivers for it and says I need to use the XF86_SVGA server.
It comes up with the screen split horizontally and the icons appearing
pink to red. Armed with my ignorance about monitors, I'm willing to
fiddle around with most any suggestions. Not knowing what I'm doing,
I want to think it is a question of mode lines that is holding things
up.
I'm willing to take suggestions, I'm willing to learn more about
monitors,
I'm even willing to reinvent the wheel! Of course, I would
appreciate it if someone could point me in a favorable direction.
I do know how to use the ctrl-alt-backspace sequence of keys to
keep from smoking the monitor. I'm running Redhat, Slackware, and SuSE.
Help! Please Help!
