Unfortunately, no. It's like trying to run windows programs on a mac, or mac
programs on windows. The operating systems are foreign to each other.
However, some windows programs have linux versions (netscape, wordperfect,
etc.). The best thing about linux is that nearly everything is free. If you we
to switch to the mac, let's say, you'd have to buy every program you needed.
But with linux, there are thousands of programs freely available. Some of these
are simply fantastic, others aren't worth the trouble.
If there are certain programs you need, post back here with what they are, and
the list can tell you if linux versions of them are available, or what
equivalent programs are around.
