Hi

Here's a partially Linux and partially Dos/Win problem.

I'm running a dual boot system (Win95 and Linux), using LILO, and each OS is on a
separate physical hard drive. Last weekend I purchased a new hard drive to upgrade
my Win95 hard drive. It's a MAXTOR that comes with some software to copy the
contents of the old hard drive to the new. I got an error message running that
software
which says effectively that it could not copy because "there are too many root
directory entries".

Now, Maxtor tech support told me this was because of LILO, and that makes sense. I
attempted to copy over the MBR by using the "fdisk /mbr" dos command. Well, I no
longer see LILO when my system boots up, but this software is still detecting too
many root directory entries.

1. How do I edit the number of root directory entries?
2. Has LILO really be removed from my MBR?
3. Any other suggestions on how to copy the data between these two drives?

Thanks!
Paula
