Logical i think, if i interpret your vage description i would say there's no
"filesystem" on the partitions.
You said in so many words, I've edited fstab using my "Desktop box Fstab" as
an example.
Did you create a ext2 filesystem on the /usr and /home partitions.???
I suggest you read some of the install files on the RH cdrom.
