I installed redhat 2 days ago, so excuse me if the complete
moron factor seems high.
The problem is this. The etc/issue file won't "stick". I log
in as root, edit it slightly in vi to display my linux counter registration
number and my linux box's "born on" date. (i just wanted a slightly more
interesting prelogin screen that "redhat release... etc." I save it and get out
of vi. I can then logout and the new file displays correctly. Then I shutdown,
reboot, and then the old message is back. Any suggestions? (and dont say leave
your comp on)
