CS student?  Ohhh, Computer Science...What does that have to do with
windows?  Never mind :-)

If you have the time, you might try if your needful windows apps will
work with Wine, or, if you can _make_ them work (it is an open-source
project), you are welcome to contribute patches to make them work for
all of us.
