Hello everybody!
I have a problem with configuring X on my machine. My box is Compaq
Presario 2110 with on-board video chip Cyrix GX. In addition I have no data
on it (like amount of memory, chipset and so on), but it looks like one big
chip (not like a standard video card). When I try to configure even a
monochrome X-server and type startx, I see just stripes and waves and the
machine immediately hangs up. I'm using X packages included into Caldera
OpenLinux 1.1 distribution. Now I really think that there is no way to run
Linux in graphical mode on that machine, but couldn't find a clear answer
in mans and HOWTOs. If someone had this problem or has any suggestions on
the point please help.
