So do the others.
On the Slackware disk, go to bootdsks.144 (or .12 if you have a 5" drive)
for the bootdisk images, rootdsks for the rootdisk images (Slackware uses a
2-disk sequence, unlike other distributions you may be acquainted with). This
information is on the CD in the file called README.1ST (NOTE: This is a file
added by Cheapbytes, not a Slackware file).
To actually make the disks, use rawrite in a DOS window if you are using
Win9X (it's in /install on the CD), or make the disks with the dd command
under Linux (the exact instructions are in README36.TXT). Or you can try
booting from the CD itself if your computer will do that (README.1ST
discusses how).
I'm not as familiar with Mandrake, but the Cheapbytes Mandrake 5.3 CD has a
directory called images that contains Boot.img, Rescue.img, and Supp.img;
some mix of those is surely what you need to start Mandrake. rawrite is
included in the /Dosutils directory, and the file Readme has the info on
using dd . Here too, the file Readme.1st, again added by Cheapbytes, has
info on booting directly from the CD.
In both of these, and I imagine other CDs as well, the files Readme and
Readme.1st are your friends. They will tend to be the places where your
questions about how to use the CD are answered. I don't have RH6, but
earlier versions of RH have similar info available.
