We've got 95 here, and have nothing but problems with it. Mandatory
reboots almost every day. Approximately 95% of the people I've talked
to around here have had similar experiences. So I would say that yes,
you are in a *very* small minority at the very least. Maybe not unique,
but close to it.
My Linux box is currently down because of hardware problems, but before
that happened it would regularly stay up and running for multiple days
with no trouble at all. As far as user features, I like being able to
fiddle with the way my system looks and behaves. Can't do that with
Windoze. Linux also comes with a whole lot more tools than Windoze
does. And Linux is in my experience much better at multi-tasking than
Windoze can even dream about. Not to mention the security aspects -
security in Windoze 9x is a joke.
As for setup? Yes, setting up Linux is a bit more involved than Windoze
is. But once it's setup, you can leave a Linux box alone. This Windoze
system we've got often "loses" its settings. It's a real PITA to have
to reset everything every time that happens.
Given the choice, I'd take a Linux box over a Windoze system any time.
Reliability, flexibility, and overall capability - Linux has it and
Windoze doesn't. That's part of why so many people hate Windoze so
much. The other part is what M$ has done to the software and especially
the hardware market.
