The error message would be nice. Instead of these.
If memory serves me there is no msg when you mess up with isapnp, the
stuff just doesn't work.
Possible solution

(ISOLATE PRESERVE)
(IDENTIFY *)
(VERIFYLD N)
When I upgraded to 5.2, i got an error (can't remember the wording) but
the it happened when I tried to process the conf file at boot - the man
page said to add the line (VERIFYLD N) to the isapnp.conf file.
I had a 33.6i (Died horribly)
