Vaguely like the way the OS/2 WPS ran on top of PM, which ran on top of the API. Don't run the Gnome that comes with RH5.2, it's horrible! If you don't want to get RH6.0 just to get a workable version of Gnome, you can download a RH5.2 build from gnome.org. You'll also need a Gnome compatible window manager.
