Change you hosts.allow

Say the remore host trying to get inside is host.domain.com
try putting this in your hosts.allow
ALL:host.domain.com

then run these commands to resync your inet daemon
ps aux | grep inetd
it will show a number
kill -HUP that number it showed you

If that doesn't work try ps -ef | grep inetd
