You certainly don't need to keep swapping cables!

It might be tricky to do this if you want to keep the original
installation of Linux, but the procedure for setting this up goes like
this:

First, set up the W98 disk as the master and Linux disk as slave on the
IDE cable.  If you have an IDE CDROM you make that the master on the 2nd
IDE channel.  You probably have it set that way already.

Second, run the Linux install and tell it which drive you want it
installed on.  At some point the installation program will install LILO
(the Linux Loader) and offer you some options:

- Choose to put LILO on the master boot record of the first drive
- Include the WIN98 partition as another OS to add to LILO's list

When you boot, you will get a LILO: prompt.  If you ignore it, LILO will
time out and boot one system (by default Linux but you can change that).
If you type in the name of the other system, that will boot instead.
