I have hit a snag with trying to get on line. First, I do not know what dir
to put my script file, I have one called 'ppp' that am trying to get them.
I have made a file 'pppscript' with this in it(my source is RED HAT LINUX
"UNLEASED" for 5.2). The file looks like this:
1/bin/sh
mesg n
stty.echo
exec pppd -detach silent modem crtscts
chat -f chatfile
My chatfile has this in it:
"" ATZ OK ATDT(phone#) CONNECT "" ogin:<loginname> word:<pasword>
How do I make these file executable? And how can I tell if my PC is
'seeing' the modem?
I have not told the PC what my modem speed is or anything?? My manual is
just not clear(to me) on this. Thank you-
