Updating Kernal and Gnome

I've just installed RedHat 6.0 and want to update the kernal and gnome 
to the latest releases. When i go to the redhad update ftp site
there are a whole bunchy of rmp files that look like they relate to
the kernal and gnome. How do i pick out the ones that I need or do 
i download all of them.
