I just installed GNOME, and it is forcing me into a mouse vs keyboard
war. Here is an example.

GNOME has a Panel in which running clients have a button. I can click
these buttons to move the focus to a window. But doing so does not also
raise the window to the surface, and I don't see in GNOME configuration
that it can be done by the mouse.

Forr example, I have a full screen application from which I can open
windows. But if those windows get burried, they are no longer accessible
even though the penel button allows me to give them the focus. I need
access to them and so wonder how to do it.

On a related note, I would also like to do the above from keyboard. I
can use Alt-tab to cycle the focus among windows, but for some reason
only two (most recent?) windows. I need to move the focus to the others
from keyboard and bring them to the surface as well. How?
