Then if i may be so bold as to say, your friend is very ill informed.

The curve is not so steep now a days, Redhat has a very nice windows type of
click and go interface, to coin a phrase.

I for one _never_ want to use a dos computer for any other reason than my
boss telling me that i have to, at home i have used linux just about from
the start.

To say completly the opposite would be an over statemant, however i would
_stronly_ advise the use of redhat or what ever distro you choose, and tell
you friend not to talk about things which he obviously has very little
knowlage of.
