hi all!
i'm running RH 6.0 with kernel 2.2.9
while bringing up the ppp line - actually at compression protocol
negotiation - it says like this (debug) :
....
Sep 10 15:16:14 tiger modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-21
Sep 10 15:16:14 tiger modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-26
Sep 10 15:16:15 tiger modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-24
....
i've built the kernel with these settings :
.....
CONFIG_PPP=m
#
# CCP compressors for PPP are only built as modules.
#
.........
and the compression modules are installed and dependencies created:
/lib/modules/2.2.9/net/bsd_comp.o: /lib/modules/2.2.9/net/ppp.o
/lib/modules/2.2.9/net/ppp_deflate.o: /lib/modules/2.2.9/net/ppp.o
