There is a program that gives a GUI for all that stuff together it's designed
for KDE, and called Krabber, find it at http://krabber.automatix.de 
I'm trying to get it working but I got troubles to get it to find bladeenc,
lame and encode. It looks great... Give it a try, maybe tell me if you can get
it working.
