Yeah- it matters. First, I'd like to point out that there is a speech enabled
version of emacs available. I am certain that it ships with the Debian
distribution, not sure about others.
Second- I have run/installed a few distributions as a newbie user and, while I
do have a mandrake box running, I prefer Debian overall. (I run Debian on both
of my 486 laptops and on a 100mhz 6x86 with 32meg.)
Some people think that Debina is more difficult to install and set up, but the
available support through the mailing list and irc channels outweighs this
considerably, IMO.
