Matter? To some people it matters an incredible amount. It's one of
those issues that has been known to spark lengthy flame wars. Most likely
everyone has their own favorite flavor of Linux. Personally, I like
Debian. But one of the other distros may work better for you. My
sugestion is try them all! That's the *only* way you will ever know which
is best for you. Linux Mall has a package that contains eight different
distros of Linux and one of BSD, all for about US$20. Check

for details. I plan on eventually working my way through the different
distros, but right now school work has to come first.
