        I'm glad to see I'm not the only one suprised by this.  At no point
during the installation process was I given the option to make a boot disk. 
There is a boot/install disk that came with the software.  It only gives you a
couple seconds before it automatically runs into the installation.  

        I tried hitting tab.  This left me at the boot prompt and prevented the
installation from starting, but I didn't get any list.  On a hunch, this is
what I tried.

boot hda1:vmlinux.gz root=\dev\hda1

        This gets me back into my system.  It's not an ideal solution, but at
least I can get things back.  Thanks for all the advice.  I'll try reinstalling
LILO when I get the courage back.  :-)
