I am not familiar with sounds format and I have two questions:
1. I see Afterstep is using au files and KDE wav files. How can I turn
the Wav files to au files?
2. Some of Wav files from KDE are a horror to hear and I think my old
sound card(compatible SoundblasterPro, it works with the modules
existing in kernel 2.2.5 from RH6.0) is maybe the problem. When I
wanted to play a mp3 I saw there are files on 128bit or 64bit with 24kHz
or 48kHz.What is this all about, i understand nothing. What doc should I
read?
