K!!!!! Got it working. Had to learn a little about Vertical/Horizontal sync.
Luckily my girlfriend kept the manual for the monitor. She's been into CompUSA
4 times over this monitor problem with Windows 98. I have heard the the wrong
Vertical refresh can blow-up a monitor. Is this correct??? The last time she
went in I went with her and the manager gave us a new monitor. I also know
someone with an HP Pavilion and he's had similar problems. Could this be the
cause. Could switching to Linux have caused an amateur to figure out a problem
that many CompUSA techs couldn't fix???
Anyway, once again. Thanks Richard. Another problem that you have helped me
fix. And now that newbie is up again hopefully someone else will benefit from
this one.
I also had a problem with the "Big White Square" cursor. This fixed that
problem.
Thanks again,
John
