Put the lines
alias ppp-compress-21 bsd_comp
alias ppp-compress-24 ppp_deflate
alias ppp-compress-26 ppp_deflate
in your /etc/modules.conf
You can disable bsd and deflate compression by giving the options
nobsdcomp and nodeflate to pppd.
