One idea, though I don't know if it will work for you. You can tunnel X
through an ssh connection, and the ssh authentication *may* supersede the
normal hostname authentication used by X. If not ... this really is a tough
problem. I see other workarounds, but they all suffer from **major**
security flaws.

This is only the sketchy outline of a possible idea, I know, but it's the
best I can come up with. Sorry.
