I had a scsi / ide problem once, it turns out that you cant define
/dev/sda as first drive "as is", the first drive is /dev/hda

I never bothered to read the HOWTO on using both IDE and SCSI disks
together for the reason i did not intend to use them together, i now have a
scsi only system here.

I have not followed this thread, so i may be getting hold of the stick at
the wrong end. If so sorry for the bandwidth.

I just wanted to make the point, when one has IDE and SCSI disks on one
system, /dev/hda is always used by lilo, AFAIK.

Of course i did say i did not read the F!!ing maunal on that one.
