My modem will dial blind after waiting for a period of time
determined by the value in the S6 register. The default is 2
seconds. You may have to add X0 or X1 to your initialization
string to suppress the " no dialtone " results code which might
be terminating kppp. This is a guess, but it's easy enough to
try.
After some experimentation my modem will blind dial with X0
and will report "no dialtone" and not dial with X4. This was
done with a dos terminal program because it was easy for me.
I'm not sure if it's the program or the modem firmware that
terminates the dialing with the "no dialtone" results code.
