On my machine the fonts are in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts does this
directory exist on your machine. Also I would suggest hat you run xconf or
xf86config or XF86Setup again. This will probably help set the links. I
remember somewhere it asks whether to set a symbolic link.
