Greetings all,

During the bootup process my machine gives me the following errors:

_FontTransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
Failed to set default font path 'unix/: -1
Fatal server error:
Could not open default font 'fixed'

When responding to a problem relating to a server crash, please use the
full server output, not just the last messages

Those are the messages I get. Exactly. It then starts the, what I think
is linux loading all the services and whatnot. Then I can hit enter and
it drops me to a login prompt. I can then log in as any user. At first I
was able to start Gnome by typing startx. I can't do than anymore. It
gives me an a similar error as above. Prior to that problem I was able
to start gnome. My default was KDE.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Steve
