Were it me, I would re-install on a new hdd, mount the present disk and then
copy any needed files from old hdd to new hdd.
The more times you boot and run fsck the more chance you have that something
necessary
"Repaired".
The disk has hardware problems, so you know it will need to be replaced
anyway.
