Hi Charles. Most logs are found in the /var/log directory. Probably the one
you're most interested in is the /var/log/messages file, which contains a lot
of system information, including logins. Older logs will be named something
like /var/log/messages.1, /var/log/messages.2, etc. Oh, and you usually have
to be root to view the logs. A login entry will look something like this: Aug
1 21:55:38 buzz PAM_pwdb[773]: (login) session opened for user bfox by
LOGIN(uid=0)

Also, you can run the last command to view the most recent logins. You
don't have to be root to do that. Just type last.

Cheers,
Brent
