thanks for informing me bout untaring and bout rpm
packages.
in mandrake helium 7.1, there is a x window tar
archiver and u can untar those using that program. but
i got some tar.gz files and it doesnt support opening
them..
Also,how do i compile something? just executing
`make` will be enough?
And i thought mandrake linux only gives a pdf icon
to pdf files but when u try to open ,gives an error
cuz theres no program to open it. but there is,as i
understand then.
i downloaded adobe and installed it and after i
installed when i tr�ed to open pdf files from the
mandrake`s built-in program,it didnt show an error and
opened. but when i executed adobe `acroread` it never
worked...
I could see the adobe`s licence etc etc files in
pdf format,using mandrake`s built-in .PDF viewer, but
when i wanted to see another pdf file that is on my
winblowz formatted disk,it was blank,and it said it is
encrypted with rs4. well i just said `bah`. cuz i can
open that pdf file that linux said to be encrypted
with rc4, on my winblowz!
Note: I re mounted my winblowz disk with the
write-enabled mode,but it still showed up the rc4
encrypted .cant open error. I am repeating, i CAN open
the SAME file on winblowz ,but using acrobat reader.
the program in linux which told me its encrypted with
rc4,is the built -in pdf viewer.
Well so much pain for just a simple
installation,but .please dont say `then look at that
pdf files in winblowz!!` cuz they r linux-beginner pdf
files so it will be great if i can open on LINUX.
